Amosun, labour leaders in closed-door meeting
The national presidents of Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and the National Joint Negotiating Council, Ayuba Wabba, Boboi Kaigama, and Kiri Shuaibu respectively are currently in a closed-door meeting with the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
The meeting is holding in the inner chamber of the governor’s office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
The crucial meeting was not unconnected with the strike ordered by organised labour in the state and the recent sacking and suspension of labour leaders and teachers by the government.
The embattled state chairman of NLC, Akeem Ambali, Punch gathered accompanied the labour leaders to the meeting.
The labour leaders had earlier addressed the workers who had converged on the NLC secretariat, Abiola Way, Leme, Abeokuta before proceeding for the meeting with the governor.
They promised to return to the NLC secretariat after the meeting to brief the workers of the outcome of their deliberations with the state governor.
Security agents, have however, moved away from the entrance of the NLC secretariat.
