Osinbajo, Amosun task companies to source raw materials locally

The Acting President, Prof. Yemi 
Osinbajo, has called on manufacturing companies in the country to source
 their raw materials locally and reduce the importation of same to cut 
their cost of production and maximise profit.
Speaking during the inauguration of 
Procter and Gamble factory in Agbara, Ogun State, on Thursday, Osinbajo 
said this would guarantee their viability and security in their host 
communities.
A statement on Friday by the 
Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Adedayo Adeneye,
 noted that the acting President, who commended the company’s efforts in
 the area of corporate social responsibility, especially on its safety 
water and hygiene initiatives, called on the company to do more.
Earlier in his speech, Ogun State 
Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, said the state had attracted the 
largest foreign direct investment in Nigeria, noting that this was a 
testament to the ease of doing business in the state.
While promising that the state 
government would fix the Atan – Lusada – Agbara Road, he asked the 
companies in the axis to invest part of their profit in the project. He 
reiterated the call by the acting President on companies operating in 
the state to source their raw materials locally, in order to reduce 
production cost and maximise profit.
The Managing Director, Procter and 
Gamble, Mr. George Nassar, appreciated the efforts of the Federal 
Government and Ogun State in particular, for their efforts in boosting
